WHATpeople say

I just want to send you a sunny & warm greeting from St. Vincent in the West Indies.
We are here running an academy for training international volunteers (also with ideas started in the hippie time...!) and we use your video in our education of the volunteers.
Thank you very much for creating the Homegrown Revolution video, it certainly inspires us beyond measure.
If you ever come this way, come and stay with us in our home and see how far we have come.
Wish you all the best!
Best regards, sun and love from St.Vincent

As one of the organizers of the Reel to Reel Food Film Festival in Missoula, MT, I'd like to pass on our audience's great enjoyment of your film! We showed it as a second feature after _We Feed the World_, an important but depressing film, and it provided the inspiration that everyone needed. Great discussion about urban gardening and the movement to start at least 50 new lawn-to-garden projects here in Missoula in 2009. Thanks for your good work! Jodi
I just watched your intro video on You Tube and was moved to tears. My family and I live in the interior of BC, Canada, on 2.3 acres. We have been discussing moving towards a more self-sufficiant lifestyle for two years now. I often go on about how, if only we had a few more acres, then we could do it. You have just put me in my place! Thank God! I needed that. We don't have a very long growing season here, but we could grow enough to store for the winter I am sure. I truly am thankful to your family for sharing your journey. warmly,. Chelsea from Canada
Thanks so much for sharing your world with all of us at Wild & Scenic. I am still hearing the buzz of having you here and all the hope & inspiration you planted... Kathy Dotson Wild & Scenic Film Festival
after I cried... After I cried, I sent your video on to all of my friends. Two of them wrote back to say they cried and sent it to all of their friends. What you are doing is amazing (and of course it shouldn't be-it should just be life). I am certain that you are the Nearings of the times and your actions will be a legacy and a model for the world to follow. Thanks for your inspiration and dedication to living the good life in the city. What you are doing isn't just feeding your family, but feeding the world as you provide others with a courageous path to freedom and health. Thanks so much for doing what you are doing! Thanks for a fantastic video. They say a butterfly flapping its wings in one part of the world can cause a tornado in another. This video is being posted all over the blogosphere, and the sustainability bloggers are abuzz with it. You've encouraged us all to prove what can be done not with big spaces, but with small ones. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and your lives with us. Leanne - Melbourne, Australia
Simply put, this is the revolution. You and your family are the start to something on a whole new level. Inspiration, dedication, and motivation is all that I can feel. I will follow in your footsteps, and teach all others about what I've learned over the years about horticulture. I love this video. I thought that I was the only one who had a dream like your own. Thank you very much for your video. God bless. YouTube Comment
I have been drowning in a sea of gloom and doom. This video has gently nudged me out of my stupor and has reminded me why I even started paying attention to all that needs to be changed in the first place. I can start this right now, right here, today, in my own backyard. I don't need to wait for oil to run out, or the Great Depression Part II. This is something that I can do for my family and for myself. YouTube Comment

Wow wow and WOW! Our growing season is over here on the east coast, but look out next year! Inspiring!!! YouTube Comment
Enough excuses. I plan to grow my own home garden next year. To the extent that I can supplement most, if not all, of my diet. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the inspiration. YouTube Comment
I came across your videos while searching for inspiration on starting our own garden. I certainly found inspiration in your story! I used your goals to create my own goals of self-sufficiency. Your photos gave me permission to use my front yard as well as my back yard (I was afraid to take out my front lawn). And I've shared your video with my family and closest friends to inspire them to begin growing food in their own yards! Thank you for sharing your story. S.C.
Dear Homegrown folks, I'm 55 years young, a pastor in Scottsdale, Arizona. born in New York, went to Woodstock (the original one), happily married and have 5 delightful grandkids (and one on the way). I saw your YouTube "Homegrown Revolution" back in March of this year, and that last line - that if you want to change the world, it all starts with the changing one's self first, well - it got to me. I decided right there that I'm going to do something about changing the world by doing something radical - changing myself; getting out of my "city-thinkin'-comfort-zone" and get my hands dirty - like people did throughout the ages in every culture. I've done just about no gardening all my life […]. But I decided to get free and just "go for it." […] I went to Home Depot, got the material to build 4 huge raised garden boxes (3 @ 4' X 4' and one 10' X 4' - with irrigation - drip system in each box), I ordered 4 1/2 tons of Organic soil, and, with my lovely wife, planted vegetables, herbs, flowers, trees and beautied my back yard. I don't know what got into me - but whatever it was, it was very good! It truly does bring a sense of freedom...can't explain it...it has to be experienced. And if I can do it, anyone can! Anyway, here are the pictures. Thanks for your inspiration. M.L.
I finished watching videos about the garden and it was inspiring. For a long time, I wanted to do something right for the earth but didn't know what. Thank you for helping me find my cause. I never thought a home can do so much. I plan on starting my own garden tomorrow. Thank you D.S..
